Moon Dance

Went on an evening walk—took one look at the moon and nearly doubled over. It was stunning. I don’t know why or how. Reminded me of Virginia Woolf:

“What is the meaning of life? That was all- a simple question; one that tended to close in on one with years, the great revelation had never come. The great revelation perhaps never did come. Instead, there were little daily miracles, illuminations, matches struck unexpectedly in the dark; here was one.” (To the Lighthouse)

So it was one of those moments. A match struck unexpectedly in the dark, some unforeseen beauty, or better yet, a new brilliance discovered in what was once deemed ordinary and common.
