Thoughts for another day: pacifism is such a tempting principle to latch onto, especially when given the choice between a quiet world versus a bloody one. The problem is, we were born out of survival.
Perhaps we don’t have to be pacifists to be peacemakers. Perhaps peace is something we should always strive to achieve, but it is also something we can pursue ruthlessly, if for the right reasons. After all, if there is no counterbalance, what would be its meaning in the first place?
