In the Garden of Thresholds

Today’s trip brought to mind this Van Gogh painting. Books (including a display of the First Folio of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and the Gutenberg Bible!), art (the French countryside is such a lovely subject), and gardens (succulents! bonsai trees!)—what a fitting way to celebrate this last day as a legal non-adult. I’m not sure if I’m ready to cross over the threshold just yet, or if I want to at all, but it’s coming, it’s inevitable, and perhaps it’ll be nice. Perhaps.
